We treated ourselves, after nearly four weeks of camping, to three nights at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa – and loved it!
At Reception we were offered a glass of sparkling wine and booked into Room 367 on the first floor (there is just ground floor and first floor) of the Dragon Flower Wing.
The room was lovely – spacious, nicely furnished with a luxurious feel.
Walking into the room the wall on our right was lined with a long cupboard with sliding doors. On our left was a large bathroom with polished timber floors, large shower with rain showerhead, pedestal type basin and mirror on back of door. L’Occitane toiletries were provided.
The bedroom was large with king-size bed – super comfy. There was a mini bar in one corner plus tea and coffee making facilities. In another corner was a desk. A nice touch was the illuminated magnified make-up mirror.
There was an air-conditioner and fan – a welcome relief in Broome’s hot climate.
There was a large flat screen TV in the room, a couple of chairs and a round coffee-type table.
We had shutter doors opening onto a good-sized balcony. There were insect screens on the outside of the shutters so we could open the doors for fresh air.
Other thoughtful items in our room were hairdryer, large umbrella, torch, ironing and ironing board and a safe.
Our room was a garden view room, but there are also pool view rooms and beach view rooms.
The gardens are beautiful throughout the resort. There are two swimming pools – a family pool near Reception and an Ocean Pool for adults.
There are a number of excellent restaurants at the Resort:
- The Sunset Bar & Grill – as the name suggests this is where you can watch the sunset over Cable Beach. There are two menus here – one for the restaurant, and one for the outdoor bar area.
- Rambutan – Southeast Asian cuisine
- Zensai – Japanese restaurant seating just 30 guests
- Club Restaurant
- Boardwalk Café – an casual outdoor area overlooking the family pool near the Club Restaurant – lunch, coffee and pastries.
We ate at the Sunset Bar & Grill on a couple of occasions. The restaurant offered delicious meals. The Bar food was also delicious with a selection of burgers, pizzas and meals of fish and chips and steak.
The buffet breakfast at the Sunset Bar & Grill was excellent.
The Resort has an oriental feel and was founded by Lord McAlpine who travelled the world collecting art, antiques and artefacts – you can see many of these throughout the resort.
Facilities of the resort include a daily courtesy bus to Chinatown, a computer room, a gift shop and Allure Pears boutique, a spa
We can highly recommend a stay at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa. It has a wonderful location overlooking Cable Beach, spacious and luxurious rooms, beautiful gardens, excellent restaurants, friendly staff – it’s a fabulous resort.
