We arrive at Uno Railway Station and can see Uno Hotel across the road – a stylish black building.

It is a new and modern hotel (2019) with 3 levels, very well located, a few minutes walk from the station and from the port where ferries depart for Teshima Island and Naoshima Island. It is also a close walk to restaurants.

On the ground floor (level 1) there is Reception, a French restaurant (Bluno), common kitchen (microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer stocked with free ice creams, variety of teas, cups and teapots, women’s showers, a washing machine and dryer. There are warm jackets to wear across to Setouchi Onsen Tamanoyu nearby.

The reception area is very attractive with low sofas and coffee tables. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We have Room 212 – a very nice room – spacious, with balcony overlooking a park and the water.

There are two double beds in the room with a separate shower room, toilet and hanging space. There is a long desk in the bedroom area which includes a sink. There are a couple of mirrors and a large inbuilt TV on the wall. The floor is carpeted.

The building has central air-conditioning. There is a sliding glass door and insect screen onto a good-sized balcony.

An excellent breakfast is served in Bruno Restaurant for Yen 2000 (as well as lunch and dinner).

This is our group’s favourite hotel – we can highly recommend a stay at Uno Hotel – a great base from which to visit Teshima and Naoshima – the art islands.
