This is an excellent hotel and very well located for exploring Takayama. If arriving by train or bus, it is a few minutes walk from the railway station and bus station, and the hotel is a short walk to restaurants and all the main sights of Takayama.
Our check in is smooth and we have Room 805 on the 8th floor.
We are surprised at how spacious the room is – an entry hall where we take our shoes off, a kitchen along one wall, a separate shower/bath, basin and toilet. The bedroom is separated by a glass panel door. We have a Queen bed, large built-in wardrobe, TV on TV-stand and a good-sized desk.
There is also a split system air conditioner, and an air purifier/dehumidifier.
There is a sliding glass door, together with an insect screen onto the balcony which looks out across to the railway station.
An added bonus is a washing/drying machine and a medium-sized refrigerator in the room.
Kitchen
The kitchen is stocked with the basics, including condiments in the fridge, should you want to self cater. There is an electric cooktop, a microwave and a kettle.
Bathroom
There is a shower and small bath in one room; a separate toilet and a basin between those two rooms. There are generous supplies of shampoo, conditioner and body wash as well as Face Lotion, Milk Lotion and Face Soap.
Bedroom
A Queen size bed with good quality linen, built in wardrobe, TV, desk and a small Japanese-style table with two chairs.
Parking
The parking is undercover, free of charge, right next to Reception.
We can highly recommend a stay at Residence Hotel Takayama Station.
