Villas on Rivergum is a relatively new development of 1 and 2 bedroom ground floor units on the outskirts of Emerald offering good value for money. We can highly recommend these villas if you are looking for clean, modern and self-contained accommodation.
We checked into Villa 4, a two-bedroom contemporary unit with open plan kitchen, dining and living area.
Bedroom 1 at the front of the villa had a queen bed, an ensuite bathroom and walk-in robe. The room was well furnished with bedside tables and bedside lamps, digital clock/radio. Toiletries were provided in the ensuite, and there was an extra pillow and blanket in the walk in robe.
The door to the single lock up garage was off the hallway. At the top end of the garage was a washing machine and dryer plus detergent, iron/ironing board, clothes horse, laundry basket, etc.
Down the hallway was the open plan living/kitchen/dining area, which featured a couple of two-seater sofas, coffee table, TV and dining table for 4 – all very comfortable.
The kitchen was fully equipped with dishwasher, full-sized fridge, built in oven and cooktop, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, glasses, and mugs. There was even dishwashing liquid and powder, tea towel, etc.
Bedroom 2 featured a queen bed and a sliding door onto a back patio. Off the bedroom was a spacious bathroom with basin, toilet, bath and separate shower. Toiletries were also included.
Both bedrooms had carpet; the living/kitchen and bathrooms were tiled with large contemporary cream tiles.
In both bedrooms and the living area there were ceiling fans and reverse cycle air conditioning. There were also screens on the windows and doors.
The unit had plenty of storage space with a linen cupboard off the living area and wardrobes in the bedrooms.
There was a small cement patio and garden with lawn off the living room.
It was about a 5-minute drive back to the main road and restaurants but worth the trip to stay in such clean, comfortable accommodation.
We had a delicious dinner in Emerald at Le Porte Rosse of Veal Scallopine with Mediterranean Vegetables, and Fettucine Carbonara with a Caesar Salad. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and was licenced. The waitress was very professional and friendly and we can highly recommended it.
Other options for restaurants/cafes in Emerald were:
For dinner
- Le Porte Rosse
- ABC Chinese Restaurant
- The Irish Village
- Salt Bar & Grill
- Mayfair Tavern
For breakfast or lunch – Theo’s was recommended.
We enjoyed our stay at Villas on Rivergum and will continue to look for Direct Hotels properties (directhotels.com.au) when next staying in Queensland.
